Holiday on Your Doorstep

I have travelled to many places and am now happy to call The Gold Coast Australia my home I love living on the Gold Coast there is so much to offer and I cant think of a better place to raise my children.

When I returned from my girls getaway in Melbourne it was school holidays we did not have a trip away planned sometimes it is nice to just hang out at home and appreciate what you have in your own backyard.

It was Friday morning and I said to the kids what are we going to do today ? One of the boys suggested lets go and stay at Royal Pines Resort. This resort is only 20minutes drive from where we live and holds some very fond memories.

Royal Pines is ideally located between the white sand beaches of surfers paradise and the beautiful Gold Coast Hinterland. It offers a championship golf course , great fun family activities, fabulous restaurants The view from The Videre restaurant is one of the best you will find on the Gold Coast with sweeping views which are breathtaking both day and night. There is a chapel , day spa and a fabulous pool area with slides which keeps the kids entertained for hours you can hire Segways to take you around the grounds and to the boys delight their is a soccer pitch which wherever we travel the boys always find.

I guess you could say The Royal Pines is one of our happy places we have so many fond memories here. This is where my Husband and I got married in the chapel and also had the boys naming day .We also held a fundraising event in Videre for The Mater Little Miracles which is very close to our hearts.

So spur of the moment we booked in packed our bags and of we went for a couple of days. We arrived early and our room was already so they let us check in and of we headed to the pool. The pool is just fabulous for families a good sized Lagoon pool with slides and a waterpark. We had lunch at The Arika Poolbar and felt like we were on holiday and we were only 20 minutes from home.

Sometimes I think we forget to explore and appreciate the things we have on our doorstep it actually makes for a stress free holiday. Kids especially are happy with fun and games and water, give most kids a pool and it keeps them entertained for hours so I think if you are lucky enough to live on the Gold Coast make the most of it no need to spend thousands of dollars to have a resort holiday after all most 5 star resorts have the same things on offer.

After spending most of the day at the pool the boys were itching to play some soccer so they went to shoot some goals while my daughter and I headed to The park area.

In the evening my Husband headed over to join us as he had been working and we went to dine at  The Arakawa Teppanyaki . This is a fabulous way to dine with the kids as it is entertaining having a Japanese Chef perform his cooking skills in front of you and the food was delicious they have a great Teppanyaki menu for the kids and there is nothing better than when dinning out your children eat anything that is put in front of them. I must say my Kids have always been great eaters and will try anything.

The next day we decided to have our breakfast at The Tees clubhouse which overlooks the Golf Course I am not a golfer but there is something about sitting by the golf course that I find extremely relaxing. Coffee and Bacon and Egg rolls set us up for another day by the pool and of course a little more soccer.

So if you live on the Gold Coast or are visiting The Gold coast do yourself a favour and book yourselves in to The Royal Pines Resort.
