The Skin is the largest organ on our body and we really do need to take care of it. There are basic steps to follow to keep your skin in tip top condition.
When I worked in cosmetics and I had clients coming in stating that they needed a good foundation to cover up their skin problems I always took the time to find out about their skincare ritual and lifestyle habits . Yes I could have sold them their perfect colour match foundation but I was not helping them solve their problem. I would always explain that if you want a great looking foundation you actually need to start with a great canvas like any artist does when painting a picture. So here are some tips to follow to get that great looking skin sure everyone has their own concerns which need to be addressed but their are some basic tips we all need to follow.
- A daily skincare routine morning and night which suits your skincare routine. Cleanse , Serum , moisturise and eye cream and never go to bed with that make up on.
- Drink plenty of water throughout the day to help your body function properly hydrate your skin from the inside.
- As well as drinking that water start the day with a glass of warm water with a squeeze of fresh lemon to help flush out toxins.
- Protect your skin from the sun it is recommended to wear sunscreen to protect from the harmful rays which are the main causes of skin cancers, not only that it causes premature aging lines wrinkles and sagging skin.
- Eat a well balanced healthy diet full of foods rich in antioxidants.
- Exercise you will get an instant glow from the blood circulating round your body which boosts detoxification and cell renewal.
- Sleep they don’t call it beauty sleep for nothing. In deep sleep our body secretes a growth hormone that helps repair and build tissues which helps to maintain collagen which we need to stay looking youthful.
- Cut back on Alcohol in simple terms it takes the good from your skin which is the hydration and leaves you with dryness bloating and redness.
- Don’t sweat the small stuff ! Stress has terrible effects on many things including the skin take time out , meditate do some yoga there are some great yoga poses to help with blood flow one of the best is Salamba Sarvangasana (shoulder stand) inversion poses are a great way to enhance facial radiance,plump your skin and reduce wrinkles.
